GENERAL FAQ (TO BE UPDATED)

IS THIS A FURRY GAME
If that's your thing bruh. But no in general it's just a general jamjar game with a gimmick. Characters can change as little or as much as you like.

WHAT KIND OF CHARACTERS CAN I APP?
Canon characters, OCs, AUs, and PG-AU (previous game-au) are allowed, however, only ONE of a character is allowed at a time, unless there are canon duplicates already like in Spiderverse.

Characters not allowed are: Characters under 10 years old (not counting robots and AIs and shit), Real life and historical figures, Hamilton characters, and uuuh idk anyone I forget but if I see them on the app page and remember I'll tell you then.

WHAT IS THE IC TIME?
This game is 1:1 with real life! But also this is heaven/heck, timespace is our bitch, don't really think too hard about it.

ARE CANON POWERS ALLOWED?
YES but you will be TURBO NERFED. Any uber powerful characters will find they have a house arrest anklet on one their legs, heaven or hell themed, that keeps their powers in check. Basically, level cap your world destroyers at 'level 30' across the board. Of course in personal fights or confrontations I don't really care what yall do as long as all parties agree ooc. Just don't try any game breaking shit.

Can we have a more complicated (or furry) DEMON or HEAVEN FORM for special occasions/when they're angry/that can be turned on and off??
Yes!! Play with this however you see fit.

Can we get new powers from our new forms?
Yes AND no! Basically:

-If it's just for ~flavor/vibes~ or totally harmless, yes! Example: having a no-swear zone aura, smelling like, coffee or something, animal instincts, your feet/shoes leaving fiery prints, aesthetic fire on body parts, etc, all that's okay. Also as established, if you have wings you can fly with them now.

-If you already have a canon power but are translating it to your new form-also okay! Example: A character who already can make fireballs can now also make them from their demon wings, or a character who does dbz lasers decides they can only do so from their halo now. Like that!

-Giving BRAND NEW offensive powers you never had before - BZZT not okay! If you want to get some new powers you're gonna have to make contracts bb.

This has been added to the FAQ! You should read the faq! If we catch anyone power gaming people we reserve the right to thread hop and have Abe/Lucy be like 'YOU DON'T HAVE THE PAPERWORK FOR THIS' and you will get a house arrest power nerf bracelet.

My character is a zombie/vampire/whatever do I still need to EAT PEOPLE?
If you wanna keep all your undead monster quirks and weaknesses feel free, or you can nerf them. Get player permission if you're gonna go around chewing on folks tho.

My Angel/Hellsona has wings! CAN I FLY?
You can't fly between realms but if you give yourself wings yes you can fly around the cities/garden!

Do I have to humanize my character for the game?
Nope! If you wanna App Louis Beastars you can be your weird human feet deer self. HOWEVER if your character is abnormally large they must be shrank down so they an fit in a hotel.

DO THEY HAVE TO STAY IN THE HOTEL???
Not..not really I guess you do you.

WHAT'S THIS ABOUT CONTRACTS??
Characters may feel the compulsion to try and bargain for each other's souls! If a PC buys someone's soul, they can have power over them in some way you all oocly agree with. This can be as silly as "I get to make you go to bed on time" or compelling them to tell the truth.

CAN CHARACTERS GET JOBS?
Yes!! If you want to say your character got a job, it is encouraged that you do so! While the hotel amenities are free, they DO have to pay for anything outside of them. Capitalism is fucked up even after you die. However 'payment' can be anything from 'do x numbers of good deeds' to actual weird heaven or hell currency, idc.

CAN I SAY XYZ EXISTS?
As long as it's fitting for the setting! A reminder: Casinos, sex clubs, and drug depots are only found in hell, and nice beaches, coffee shops, and churches can only be found in heaven.

CAN MY CHARACTER CHANGE ALL AT ONCE OR CAN I PACE IT OUT?

You can handwave asking Abe or Lucy in the garden, they will tell you!

I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER AND OTHER NPCS!!!
Abe and Lucy will ONLY be out in arrival posts and explaining event posts. This is NOT a plot driven game in the least, so there is no big bad or higher power for them to find and try to overthrow or takeover and what not.

IS THERE A MEME COMM? OR A NETWORK COMM?
NO I HATE CLUTTER SO MUCH, 2 COMMS ONLY, FINAL DESTINATION. All memes can be posted to the ooc comm, and any 'text' or network posts can be posted to the main IC comm like normal.

Why do the layouts suck??
Graphic design is not my passion I'm just here for the vibes.

How Does Activity Check work??
Right now considering just doing a post every month in the ooc comm and ppl have to comment to it with their AC, but this is TBD! ETA NEVERMIND PUT YOUR MONTHLY AC ON YOUR PROFILE ON THE TAKEN LIST

As long as they are from an actual story/game/anime (like the Fate series) that's totally fine!

A good litmus test is like "Abe Lincoln but he's Abe from Clone High/Abe Vampire Hunter!" That's totally okay. But "Alexander Hamilton from the Hamilton play" is just...himself, only abridged and singing, so that's a no go lmao.

Anyway this is a long way to say yes that's fine!

Itty bitty explosions... because nerfing.

So I totally respect and understand the need to make it so Megumin can't bring the house down. (We all live there) I was wondering if there is a place where Megumin is allowed to go let loose her full power? Does the house arrest anklet lose its power outside the hotel? Can I play up the imps and cherubs racing over to tackle her whenever she starts chanting?

I ask because that might make a great intro post, where Megumin is doing a video post to showcase her power, and is just buried under the little guys three seconds into her incantation. Also using her explosion magic is a big part of her character, so having places where she can let loose is a big deal for her.

1) Yeah she can TRY to do it anywhere and you can have the sheep cherubs/imps immediately dogpile her for comedic effect. Feel free to do as you please with that gag!

2) For being able to actually cast it, as long as it's not in a populated area and for rule of cool/funny, that's fine! You can make up plenty of disposable areas to use it, like out in the middle of the ocean or a disney-esque forest in heaven away from the main city! The cherubs/imps will still try to tackle her afterwards but can just be a bit too late and be crabby they have to fix/repair the area.

So is it okay for me to make up some distant mountain ranges she can see from the floating platform in June's gen post to blow up? Rearranging the topography is one of her favorite past times.

SURE. if it's in hell just make sure it's appropriately thematic. like a bunch of volcanos and firepits and demons skittering about. its fine no one will miss them.

June event question

Apologies for having another question so soon! In regards to the event do the characters know about the heart weapons generally speaking? I played out Megumin and Kazuma stumbling upon it by accident, and I was wondering if Megumin could announce to folks in a post how she think it's possible to defeat the shadows as she knows it.

Also do characters have to have the flower on their chest for the shadows to come after them? I may have forgotten to add in that part in my excitement to play with this event, but I can totally still work it in if necessary. You guys are pretty chill, but I still want to try to follow the rules and not step on anyone's toes.

EDIT: I just saw Alastor's radio broadcast post, so it seems that answers my question about her broadcasting what she knows! XD I still wonder if it's something people would know from the start, because I can definitely have it that her and Kazuma simply didn't pay enough attention.

Really the answer to all those are: do as you see fit! Abe/Lucy could have told them about the heart weapons, they could have heard thru the grapevine, randomly learned it, etc etc. So yea she can do an announcement if you want!

Having the flower to be attacked by shadows is totally optional too! Basically you really can't play this event wrong, Utena makes no sense--

If someone is canonically literally a necklace, would making their hecksona something with like, an actual body capable of body-things like walking around and all that jazz, count as "additional offensive powers"?

I could also handwave that RS here actually had to make a deal for said body with some npc offscreen if need be, but I'm still trying to figure out the details of what "need be".

Since he's still his own soul he would get his own body! And so that can be whatever--it can still resemble ryou or his original body or make him a furry, go wild! You can also still make a deal if you want to, but it wouldn't be required.

I noticed another response saying that Pokemon can be brought along with a character, can their Pokemon also get heaven/hell transformations? Also I'm assuming they'd all get categorized the same as their trainer in that case?

Also it's not specified but I'm assuming canon OCs with no connection to canon events/characters are allowed, right?

As long as it adds no extra powers to the pokemon, yeah they can be customized too, sure!

And canon OCs (pokemon trainers, Wols, etc) are A-Okay as long as they have zero relation to any canon events, sure! However for trainers, no legendary or general game breaking Pokemon allowed of course, and just for record keeping ease I'm gonna say no more than three pokemon can come along. Any other special powers or scenarios may or may not be nerfed at my discretion!

Player preference! You may update however you wish, including:

-'Temporarily' going home! No time will have passed within Heaven/Hell while they're gone!
-Having a sheep cherub/imp just bop them on the head like 'WE UPDATED YOUR PAPERWORK'
-Dying and coming back updated!

P much whatever you come up with is a okay as long as it's not game breaking!

Alright so I see AUs are allowed but what about fandom AUs? This here is a teenage Helga Pataki based on the concept for The Patakis, a show that would have been a sequel to Hey Arnold! back in the day.

Most games don't allow fandom AUs (for good reason of course) but I figured I'd ask.

HELLO!! Fandom AUs are case by case! In your case I'd likely allow it depending on your app/samples cuz I don't think there are people out there LINING UP to app canon Hey Arnold! characters lol. It's also less of an AU and just more interpretation of [helga a few years later]
