GENERAL FAQ (TO BE UPDATED)

IS THIS A FURRY GAME
If that's your thing bruh. But no in general it's just a general jamjar game with a gimmick. Characters can change as little or as much as you like.

WHAT KIND OF CHARACTERS CAN I APP?
Canon characters, OCs, AUs, and PG-AU (previous game-au) are allowed, however, only ONE of a character is allowed at a time, unless there are canon duplicates already like in Spiderverse.

Characters not allowed are: Characters under 10 years old (not counting robots and AIs and shit), Real life and historical figures, Hamilton characters, and uuuh idk anyone I forget but if I see them on the app page and remember I'll tell you then.

WHAT IS THE IC TIME?
This game is 1:1 with real life! But also this is heaven/heck, timespace is our bitch, don't really think too hard about it.

ARE CANON POWERS ALLOWED?
YES but you will be TURBO NERFED. Any uber powerful characters will find they have a house arrest anklet on one their legs, heaven or hell themed, that keeps their powers in check. Basically, level cap your world destroyers at 'level 30' across the board. Of course in personal fights or confrontations I don't really care what yall do as long as all parties agree ooc. Just don't try any game breaking shit.

Can we have a more complicated (or furry) DEMON or HEAVEN FORM for special occasions/when they're angry/that can be turned on and off??
Yes!! Play with this however you see fit.

Can we get new powers from our new forms?
Yes AND no! Basically:

-If it's just for ~flavor/vibes~ or totally harmless, yes! Example: having a no-swear zone aura, smelling like, coffee or something, animal instincts, your feet/shoes leaving fiery prints, aesthetic fire on body parts, etc, all that's okay. Also as established, if you have wings you can fly with them now.

-If you already have a canon power but are translating it to your new form-also okay! Example: A character who already can make fireballs can now also make them from their demon wings, or a character who does dbz lasers decides they can only do so from their halo now. Like that!

-Giving BRAND NEW offensive powers you never had before - BZZT not okay! If you want to get some new powers you're gonna have to make contracts bb.

This has been added to the FAQ! You should read the faq! If we catch anyone power gaming people we reserve the right to thread hop and have Abe/Lucy be like 'YOU DON'T HAVE THE PAPERWORK FOR THIS' and you will get a house arrest power nerf bracelet.

My character is a zombie/vampire/whatever do I still need to EAT PEOPLE?
If you wanna keep all your undead monster quirks and weaknesses feel free, or you can nerf them. Get player permission if you're gonna go around chewing on folks tho.

My Angel/Hellsona has wings! CAN I FLY?
You can't fly between realms but if you give yourself wings yes you can fly around the cities/garden!

Do I have to humanize my character for the game?
Nope! If you wanna App Louis Beastars you can be your weird human feet deer self. HOWEVER if your character is abnormally large they must be shrank down so they an fit in a hotel.

DO THEY HAVE TO STAY IN THE HOTEL???
Not..not really I guess you do you.

WHAT'S THIS ABOUT CONTRACTS??
Characters may feel the compulsion to try and bargain for each other's souls! If a PC buys someone's soul, they can have power over them in some way you all oocly agree with. This can be as silly as "I get to make you go to bed on time" or compelling them to tell the truth.

CAN CHARACTERS GET JOBS?
Yes!! If you want to say your character got a job, it is encouraged that you do so! While the hotel amenities are free, they DO have to pay for anything outside of them. Capitalism is fucked up even after you die. However 'payment' can be anything from 'do x numbers of good deeds' to actual weird heaven or hell currency, idc.

CAN I SAY XYZ EXISTS?
As long as it's fitting for the setting! A reminder: Casinos, sex clubs, and drug depots are only found in hell, and nice beaches, coffee shops, and churches can only be found in heaven.

CAN MY CHARACTER CHANGE ALL AT ONCE OR CAN I PACE IT OUT?

You can handwave asking Abe or Lucy in the garden, they will tell you!

I WANT TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER AND OTHER NPCS!!!
Abe and Lucy will ONLY be out in arrival posts and explaining event posts. This is NOT a plot driven game in the least, so there is no big bad or higher power for them to find and try to overthrow or takeover and what not.

IS THERE A MEME COMM? OR A NETWORK COMM?
NO I HATE CLUTTER SO MUCH, 2 COMMS ONLY, FINAL DESTINATION. All memes can be posted to the ooc comm, and any 'text' or network posts can be posted to the main IC comm like normal.

Why do the layouts suck??
Graphic design is not my passion I'm just here for the vibes.

How Does Activity Check work??

ok ok so the body mods. Are they permanent or can my character (who will be a furry from hell) look human sometimes (with devil add-ons such as tail), have no control over suddenly turning furry or human, etc?

Yep! It can go on and off, whatever's your vibe. I haven't added it to the faq yet but they can also have a more demonic monstrous form for when they're really mad if you prefer (like a 'true demon' form).

On the subject of powers being translated into their new form, would Adam's holy light powers being changed into demonic fire be permissible? It doesn't make much sense for him to still be able to fire holy blasts when he's a Hell-raised.

If your character is a necromancer, can they puppet PC corpses in the event of PC death (with player permission), or can you assume that a few demon NPC corpses are lying around in the vicinity wherever they are in hell to temporarily reanimate as needed/dramatic/funny/etc?

FOR CLARITY while it's not the only way to do so, the easiest form of corpse control happens in MDZS via shoving someone's resentful ghost back into their dead body temporarily! So I'm not sure if the way death works in this RP fully nerfs that working or not.

We're still hashing it out but basically, but the Death mechanic is on the Arrival/Mechanic page! Probably going to add when people die they will stay dead for at least 3 days or something.

THAT SAID, with permission yes you can puppet PC characters!! For NPCs that's a no because Heaven/Hell cleans up most corpses fairly quickly and tries to process their revivals. That said for the little cherub/imp helpers in the hotel they can puppet their dead bodies sure (tho can't have a whole army of them plz we need them for room service).

Basically get ooc permission for PC characters and you're good!

SO ON THE TOPIC OF POWERS, Ruby has uhhh the ability to create sentient life through inanimate objects she creates (a stuffed bunny, a snowman). There's no expressed reason it happens sometimes, and Ruby isn't even fully aware of when and how she does it in the first place.

So I guess my question is... would it be simpler to just nerf it entirely, or does it matter.

IT WILL BE SEMI-NERFED. She can bring objects to life no bigger than like, a small bed, but they won't be able to talk, just move and follow commands sorcerer's apprentice style. And she can only do a limited amount, not make a whole army. They can't have free will ala Olaf snowman. HOUSE ARREST NERF BRACELET FOR HER.

The only exception to this is if she needs to bring a bunch to life for a musical 'be our guest' style number, then anything goes. But they go right back to being inanimate after.

I have a friend looking at the game right now and wanted to know what your stance is on trans and other LGBT interpretations of characters. Would that be accepted? And if so, would there be any stipulations on them, like making them an AU?

Yello! Trans interpretations of characters are fine, but we ask that:
1) you consult your cast and cr first and foremost as they will be affected primarily
2) they can be canon or AU! this goes hand in hand with planning/consulting with your cast.
3) play with respect and nuance as to set a precedent for other possible/future characters in the same situation and
4) remember that rp =/= therapy! RP is a great vehicle for exploring characters and their infinite arcs but do not blend ic/ooc projection too much!

Tl;dr we can't give a blanket answer for every character/player, and reserve the right to tap a player if we feel they're stepping over lines/boundaries. But it's overall still welcome, and if you'd like some specific feedback giving more details on the character you're considering, feel free to dm this account!

Also as for sexuality headcanons, be free to ship/do what you want, set sail. Thank you!

I...Fully expect Emporio here to be nerfed, but in the spirit of figuring out howwwwwww I have grabbed the write up I put on my app wip and stuck it here. Kept it as concise as possible, but the tldr of it is 'please tell me how nerfed my boy is'

so, under a drop down so that no one is jumpscared with series spoilers...and. Also because it's still kinda bulky-

MAJOR JJBA STONE OCEAN SPOILERS CONTAINED WITHIN

So first off, JJBA is dumb and terrible at making powers that fit outside a narrative box, so for everyone's sake I am summarizing Emporio's TWO STANDS, he has TWO what a RULE BREAKER below in a way that Hopefully is clear and concise. I'll also link the wikis but, honestly those will probably just display why I made summaries for y'all, here we go!

• BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE
  
  BDtH is Emporio's natural stand, which he had from birth (maybe even before it); it's 'innate', meaning it manifests as a thing he does instead of a cool persona type thing.
  
  This ability lets him interact with any ruined location that was since built over- the memory of the location is known as a 'ghost room', its entry typically viewed as a vertical crack in the wall of the existing building, which only Emporio- or those who see him entering- can see and access.
  
  Emporio can take objects within these rooms and store them on his person- a ghost object is malleable and flexible in his hands, allowing computers and so on to be condensed within a pocket or a fist if he desires. That said, there are rules to ghost rooms and objects;
  
  - A ghost room and object is frozen temporally. Anything that was using power at the time of its destruction keeps running without need of an outside source. Despite this, clocks will remain frozen at the moment they would have stopped.
  - Because of the above, while ghost objects and rooms are indestructible, they also cannot affect 'temporally active' things. While a ghost PC can be made to access a wireless network, ghost pipes cannot access or spit out water, ghost food can be tasted but only falls through the jaw before reforming after a moment, and ghost weapons cannot harm others. (Though you could, say, load a ghost gun with real bullets. Emporio has done this!)
  
  
• WEATHER REPORT
  
  This is the Stand that belonged to the character by the same name, who passed it to the cast in disc form as a trump card. Emporio tricked Pucci into 'installing' it in the child, and in the process became the first in the series with two individual stands.
  
  Weather is a pseudo sentient, manifesting Stand. There's your persona! The stand never displays more than bare minimum personality, but is incredibly protective and reactive, preventing its users from even performing self harm in most situations.
  
  As a manifested Stand, it reacts according to Emporio's subconscious needs- if he feels threatened, it will appear and assess the situation, but if Emporio is overly emotional, its power may lash out.
  
  As to that power, it is explained as 'total control over the weather, over at least the range of a city'. However, this power (excluding Heavy Weather because fuck that) has been shown to do the following:
  
  - Create space suits of breathable air for protection and air
  - Create a rain of toxic frogs on the basis of 'it has rained frogs in history'
  - Reduce a room's breathable air to pure O2
  - Spontaneously freeze things, or generate water from within things
  
  (It's probably in need of a good ol' nerf.)

WEATHER REPORT - will have the house arrest ankle bracelet nerf whenever it is summoned. Specifically:
-Control of the weather will be limited to 'room sized' and Emporio has to be there.
-But to that extent it can follow him around if he wants. Have a trail of frogs idc. Throw some locust in there too. Let's get biblical.
-RE reducing air to zero ask for permission with your thread partner or dice roll 50/50 if it works, since technically everyone is dead does it really even matter?? I'll leave that up to players.
-Same goes for Freezing/Water Generation just ask for permission with whoever you're threading with or rng to see if it actually works.

There's great info about powers in game, but I am wondering about limits on weaponry? I erred on the side of assuming no weapons when arriving but is it possible for characters to get weapons, specifically something like an angelic weapon? I am assuming that it would either be expensive or involve a deal if it's even an option at all but would like an idea on what it might look like.

There aren't any angelic weapons in game (currently) since WHY,,,,

BUT if he wants to make deals with angelic aligned PCs or NPCs to get such things/build one, that's fine! Just make sure it entails some amount of Effort and is a reasonable reward (example he can't just hi-5 someone for a deal and now he has an angelic sniper rifle). He wouldn't be able to just Have One upon arrival either since he doesn't have any special angel weapons in canon, but it's okay for him to just have a couple of his normal guns. Ooor he can mug a dude in Hell and take theirs, idc.

BUT YEAH lmk if that make sense!

As you may or may not know, Reigen's bestie is a kid nicknamed Mob - and his thinking would definitely be that 1: Mob should go to Heaven and 2: if not, Reigen BETTER be in Hell to look out for him.

Is it possible that this goofy con artist like. Messes with his card, forges it, etc to say "Kageyama Shigeo: Heaven" and get himself thrown in Hell, hiding a halo and all that? Or is that a little too rule-bendy for the setting despite potential hijinks?

I'll leave that up to you! As long as ya aint power gaming and your CR wants to play with it, that is a-okay! It can also have an aesthetic change if you wish (like instead of dark/red energy it can be gold and white, etc)

Blitz is probably gonna just. move people he cares about into a room with him if they don't wanna be in their own places but if possible he will get a larger room.

Failing that he might have to get an apartment but then there's RENT, GROSS.

hello! i had a question on how to count ac.

does a toplevel count as a comment itself, or do you need to start counting from the replies? Also, when it says a thread needs to be at least 5 comments to count for ac, does that cover all the comments in a toplevel, or does each individual subthread need 5 comments to be countable?

for instance, if you have a toplevel where two characters tag in and you tag character A 10 times but character B drops the thread after only 4 tags, does that count as 14 tags or just 10?

And also-- can he have a more 'human' form (with maybe accents from his normal design) and then... his regular, giant, lobster boi self?

Human-ish form is not at all cannon but he is... a reality breaking critter (who will be mostly nerfed no worries lol) so I feel like him making himself a humanish form for being smol would not be outside the realm of his cannon ability.
