THE SETTING

PREMISE & RUNDOWN | RULES | FAQ | CONTRACTS & DEALS | APPING | SETTING AND LOCATION
ARRIVAL AND MECHANICS | TAKEN CHARACTERS AND DROPS/HIATUS | ACTIVITY GASHA | PLAYER-RUN BUSINESSES

IC COMM | OOC COMM

The Garden of Good and Evil
A massive garden full of delicious fruits and stream of milk and honey--this is where every character wakes up! Any new arrivals will be broadcasted to both realms so people can come to meet them. You wake up with a keycard telling you if you're in Heaven or Hell, and your appropriate hotel room number. Anyone is free to just visit the garden between arrivals however; think of it as Central Park, or a Botanical Garden. There's a space for sports, spaces for picnics, and several natural trails.

The Elevators
In the Center of the Garden, are sets of clear, free standing glass elevators. There are only three options: Up or Down. And Garden. If you travel Down, along the way you will see plumes of fire and molten lava. Maybe a couple souls whiz by the window. Going up you will see a beautiful view of clouds, sea (what sea??), and cute birds and shit. Each Elevator stops in their appropriate hotels.

The HellRaiser Hotel
This immaculate if, kinda sketchy, hotel is massive, with 13 floors, toting all the facilities you'd find in 5-star Vegas hotel. Here you will find casinos, bars, saunas, clubs, an in-hotel drugstore for actual drugs, several 666-star restaurants, and more. There are also less?? Traditional facilities, like an actual lava bath. Wow. Crazy that it doesn't kill you. Anyway, the staff is mostly cute but mischievous ram-like imps, who will gladly cater to your every sin, but aren't above pranks, so look out for that. They will especially bully any Heaven-Bound visitors.

The CloudNine Hotel
This gorgeous hotel is something you could never dream of affording. It has 14 floors (though the 13th isn't accessible), and staff of cute sheep-like cherubs are here to make you feel like royalty, though they can get annoying at times. If any Hell-Raised visit, the sheep will be passive aggressive and try to forcibly clean them up or nitpick them. But forget that, the facilities are amazing, with two michelin star level restaurants, spas and massages, indoor and outdoor pools, bars that serve only the CLASSIEST of drinks, a room full of literal clouds for frolicking in, and a fitness center. Wowie!! There's probably more though. Why not, it's Heaven!!

The Rooms
No matter where you room, the layouts are nearly the same, just the decor is different. Every room comes with a very comfortable king sized bed (or double beds if you desire), a splendid bathroom with shower/bath, flat screen TV, laptop, window with a view of their respective cities, a phone for room service, closet, and a small kitchenette area (coffee maker, fridge/freezer, microwave, mini stove/oven top, and counter). Depending on the realm, your decor may be more Hellish or Angelic, but the rooms may also take on decor of your personal taste. For example, this and this are both appropriate rooms to have.

Hell City
As a temporary guest, you are only permitted to explore a 'small' part of the city, but small is pretty generous. There are millions and millions of souls, some natural born demons, others are actual sinners, and some are none too friendly, so watch your back. The ground is all cobblestone and a bit heated, but not uncomfortably so, especially if you're a Hell-Raised. The sky is a perpetual night, though it sometimes rains fire and brimstone, or golfball sized hail.

If you are brave enough to explore, you'll find more clubs, bars, restaurants, casinos, general stores, drug depots, and other 'sinful' places to visit, almost anything you can imagine. Places that would be exclusive to hell include: Casinos, drug depots, and sex clubs.

While everything in the hotel is free for use, if you want to purchase items anywhere else, you must get a job to earn currency, OR do tasks as payment, which can be as minor as "a shop keep told me to tell three lies to someone."

HELL LEVEL 1 - THE PRIDE RING
A new number appears on the elevator to take you *further* into hell, a "1" burning bright red. This will send you down to the Sinful City of Pride!!

This subscity embraces all forms of pride. Sports team pride! Pride in your abilities! Pride of sexuality!! There are many stores here that sell themed jerseys and such based on your interests, and paraphernalia of all kind can be found if it highlights literally ANYTHING you find pride in. There are many competitions of all sorts always constantly being held--from sporting events, to eating contests, to beauty pageants, nothing is off limits if it means proving you're the BEST at something. You can also rent out event spaces for your own competitions!

The "pride" and joy of this ring is a massive stadium--there's always some high stakes match going on. But the stadium also doubles as a massive mall, with all sorts of gaudy and high ticket items. While they do accept cash here, demons will give you a discount if you pay with a deal or "pride"--giving it up, or showing it, such as beating others in an arm wrestling contest or such.

The hell-born demons and imps in this ring have more lion-like traits, and whenever you visit, you may temporarily also get some of those traits (but not mandatory!)

Hell Level 2- GREED RING

When you step off the elevator, you're very much in for a treat. The Greed Ring is one of THE classiest rings in all of hell. Money and status is king here, and it resembles that of a Vegas Strip on steroids. The casino halls here have velvet flooring, the machines and slots are all gold plated, and clothing shops only sell the finest of silk and linens. The clubs here are just as high class, boasting the finest of wines and liquors, expensive "entertainment," and being veeery picky about who enters or owns property.

Currently the most popular club is Pot of Greed; which is essentially a giant high class rec room. Pool tables, darts, axe-throwing (???), any games that combine luck, skill, and money can be played here, or you can just relax with your friends. There's a special drink here called the Ambrosia, and can't be found in any other level of Hell! It enhances your sense of indulgence and your desire to take and own--both in positive ways and negative. Servers will always warn you to drink responsibly, but you know. Hell lol. While still a high class joint, it's very common for parties to be hosted here, and the space can be rented out!

Casinos aren't the only gambling halls here though--if you want some slightly less classy addiction forming habits, there are dozens upon dozens of gambling arcades. Pachinko, crane games, those...weird light games at Dave and Busters, you know what I'm talking about!! However, many of the games are rigged, and it will take a LOT of coin to win anything. The payouts range from cash to gold and silver trinkets though. . .which you can keep or trade for more coins, or try to up your status to get into higher class joints.

Greed isn't all about material gain though! Curiously you'll find many stores that sell. . .labels, of sorts. Collars, rings, bracelets, anything that will let you claim others as your own. The more 'friends' you have, the higher your status in this ring, it seems.

It is still Greed though, and nothing is free. Deals are NOT accepted as payment in this ring, unless you are trading something veeeery valuable (like your free will), only cash, coin, and material goods, and any attempts to steal will be met with physical harm from the demons here. Notably, the demons here all have reptilian-adjacent features. Scales, slit eyes, perhaps a tail and claws, there's a variety. Your characters may take on these characteristics too while visiting!

Heaven City

As a temporary guest, you are only permitted to explore a 'small' part of the city, but small is pretty generous. There are millions and millions of souls, some natural born biblically accurate angels. Most are friendly and welcoming, some TOO much so, others may be snobbish and judgemental. This portion of the city is built upon clouds and a golden brick road, and it's always comfortably sunny, though with a few sunshine showers. Sometimes glitter falls from the sky. Weird. It does turn into 'night' every day at 7pm though so you can view the stars.

Still it's worth exploring though, as you'll find more restaurants, libraries, cute niche coffee shops, clothing shops, beaches, and other heavenly getaways. Places that would be exclusive to heaven include: Normal beach + ocean, churches, and coffee shops. Yea that's right you have to visit heaven for coffee. Fucked up.

While everything in the hotel is free for use, if you want to purchase items anywhere else, you must get a job to earn currency, OR do tasks as payment, which can be as minor as "a shop keep told me to help three people for this t-shirt."

HEAVEN LEVEL 1 - THE HUMILITY CIRCLE

A golden "1" suddenly appears on the elevators in the Heavenly Hotel, giving you access to levels higher in the heavenly skies. Let's go up to the Humility Circle!

The Humility Circle is not nearly as flashy as the rest of heaven--no golden paths or gaudy statues, no trumpets blaring or choirs singing. It oddly feels like a cozy small town! Cobblestone roads, simple but effective old timey buildings, and the weather is always perfectly Fine. This circle boasts many restaurants, but they're all home-style cooking, and you could swear you feel almost alive eating them. And while there are plenty of shops, everything tends to be handmade or very nostalgic. This is likely the only place in heaven or hell you'll find a PURELY retro arcade, or other old fashioned shops as such. There are also many quiet, cozy, libraries!

Since they don't like flashy things, anything you 'buy' in the Humility Circles is done via trades, offers, or deals. Your money is no good here! The Angels are also more than willing to teach you their ways, being far less judgmental and more hospitable than the ones in the big city. Demons are more likely to be hired here, though with the whole no cash thing, you might not want to be. . .!

The Angels here all seemed to be more lion themed to both extreme or minor extents, though their color palettes tend toward gold, white, or pastels. You may also gain lion traits while visiting (optional!)

Heaven Level 2 - CIRCLE OF CHARITY

Welcome to the Charity Circle! And. . .holy shit it's bright! Coincidentally resembling very touristy, high fashion famous streets/areas, this Circle is all about CUTENESS AND STYLE. Puffy dresses, stickers, colorful mascots! It's a bit of a sensory overload! And what's more. . .everything is free!!

Free? You heard that right! But there's a catch. Everything in this circle is a bit, well shallow. The dresses and outfits are wild and cute but not really practical if you're not into that style, and all the food and restaurants only provide trendy junk foods. A rainbow colored hot dog, a chocolate filled calzone, different flavors of popcorn. . .! Delightful novelties, but most you won't want to eat more than a few times. Still, free is free, and there's also a large theme park here , with a theme focusing on a bunch of cute kawaii lizard like angel critters. The theme park has some fun baby-level rides and lots of photo ops, so even if it's not super thrilling, it's a chill place to hang just for the novelty of it all.

Speaking of kawaii, similar to the greed ring, there are countless gachapon arcades in this circle! And while free, the gachas only contain hyper kawaii, chibi styled merch. Your chances of getting EXACTLY what you want however are..........extremely low. That cute chibi idol you want so bad? Enjoy spending at MINIMUM 12 hours to snag it. But hey, it's heaven, you've got all of eternity!!

Finally, oddly enough. . .there is also a free hospital in Charity. While no one can truly 'die', they can fix up any injuries, and also put you back together when on the verge of 'death' so you don't enter limbo or accidentally switch assignments. The catch though? It's always a coin flip. Heads, they treat you, tails, they turn you away :3 Charity!! Like Greed, the angels here have reptilian features, though most are pastel or albino flavored.
